-2023
The year begins with the COVID-19 pandemic and an increased focus on digital technologies at AZO. A task force is established to protect employees' health. The "Prometheus" intelligent conveyor system is installed at the AZO technical center. Video conferences replace in-person meetings, and trade fairs move to virtual platforms. In the fall, AZO successfully passes the SMETA audit.
AZO introduces the "ATOM" model to secure the company's future. Remote work continues even after the peak of the pandemic, enhancing AZO's appeal as an employer while opening opportunities for global talent. The first episode of AZOs own podcast goes online.
The future managing directors of the new business units are announced as part of the ATOM model. In July, AZO celebrates the 100th birthday of its founder, Adolf Zimmermann, with a large event, including the renaming of a central town square in his honor.
AZO continues its strategic realignment with the founding of AZO Global Product Center GmbH & Co. KG. In May, Lukas Zimmermann, the founder's grandson, becomes actively involved in the company's operations. In August, ground is broken for a new state-of-the-art logistics hall, set to be completed for AZO's 75th anniversary celebration in September 2024.
